Marcus Thorpe is the public safety reporter for NBC4.

Prior to joining the NBC4 team, Thorpe served as a reporter and anchor at WAND-TV in Decatur, IL. He also reported and produced at KJCT-TV in Grand Junction, CO and KRGV-TV in Weslaco, TX.

Marcus is a Broadcast Journalism graduate of Sam Houston State University in Texas. He anchored top-rated newscasts in central Illinois and was voted a top media personality by a major central Illinois publication reader survey.

He works with the American Heart Association and area pet organizations.

Marcus said his most memorable story was when he received the opportunity to sit down with Pat Sajak and Vanna White. He was even able to spin the Wheel of Fortune.

If he weren't working in television, Marcus said he would be a teacher and coach of baseball or football.

Marcus' first job was as a game room employee at a movie theater.

Marcus lives in Galloway with his wife of two years, Mikaela, their sons, Logan and Christian, and their weiner dogs, Bentley and Barkley.
