The giant community festival welcomes thousands to cut loose and have a good time, but law enforcement agents say you still have to obey the law. There are even some undercover agents roaming the festival to make sure festival goers are doing just that.
Agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit are on the lookout for minors who sneak alcohol into the event and for vendors who are selling adult beverages to people under the age of 21.
“The parties involved are issued a criminal citation and so the seller will be charged with a violation of the Ohio Revised Code that’s the sale or furnishing of alcohol to a person that’s underage. And then the underage individual as well will be issued a criminal citation for the underage purchase or possession of alcohol,” said Ohio Investigative Unit Agent Eric Wolf.
