Katie Love joined the NBC4 staff as digital journalist in December 2014.
A native of Miami, Katie served as an investigative reporter for WSLS-TV in Roanoke, Va., and reporter/anchor at KSNF-TV in Joplin, Missouri. She was also an intern at NBC’s Today in Washington, D.C., and MSNBC on Capitol Hill.
Katie received her bachelor’s degrees from the Bob Schieffer School of Journalism at TCU in broadcast journalism, and theater.
She was awarded the Lone Star Emmy in 2011, along with the Virginia School Board Association Media Award.
Katie said the most memorable stories she covered were the deadly tornado in Joplin, Missouri, missing University of Virginia student Hannah Graham, and murdered teenager Alexis Murphy.
If she wasn’t working in TV, Katie said she would try her hand at acting, or comedy correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
She said her first job was working as a camp counselor at her former preschool. She currently lives in downtown Columbus.
