High Water Closes Athens County Roads (Image 1)

Flooding caused by falling rain and melting snow has forced the closure of several roads in Athens County.

According to the Athens County EMA, the following roads are closed:

  • CR 1 – Carbondale Road, at Gabriel Hill
  • CR 10 – Baker Road, at 681 and CR 14, at the Marion Johnson Intersection
  • CR 17 – Fisher Road, by Township Road 50
  • CR 18-Potter Road, at 550
  • CR 19 – Hebbardsville Road, between CR 17A and CR 19
  • CR 31 – Oakdale Road, lower end
  • CR 34 – Dutch Creek Road
  • CR 38- Sand Rock Road
  • CR 44 – Bucks Lake Road, between CR 45 and County line
  • CR 48 – New England Road
  • CR 49 – Joy Road
  • CR 51 – Planstville Road
  • CR 57 – Rodehaver Road, off CR 53
  • CR 100 – Rhoric Road, between CR 3 and CR 9

Officials also want to remind drivers not to drive in high water. Doing so can be hazardous.
