Whitehall and Bexley police are investigating several robberies that they believe are the work of the same man.
Shortly after noon on January 20, Bexley police said that a man wearing a black and camouflage ski mask walked into the CVS at 2532 E. Main Street, showed a small silver handgun and demanded money from the cashier.
On March 1, a man walked into the same CVS, showed the same handgun and committed a second robbery.
On March 3 at 12:14 p.m., a man displayed the same handgun and demanded money at Sally Beauty Supply AT 3728 East Main Street, according to Whitehall police.
In each of the robberies, police described the suspect as a black male between 40 and 50 years old, standing between 5’10” and 6’2” with a stocky build and light facial hair. In each of the robberies, he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt under a dark colored jacket.
“He came in the same way, a white hooded sweatshirt pulled up over his head. Walked in the store almost the same way in all three instances,” said Bexley Detective Bernard Hanna.
The suspect also walked with a slight limp.
“He’s going in. He’s wanting to show right away that he has the means to commit an aggravated robbery,” shared Hanna.
