The Licking County Humane Society is asking for help to care for 62 dogs, most of which are puppies, which were rescued on Wednesday.
According to the Humane Society a report was made Wednesday in regards to dog on the roadway on U.S. 62 near Johnstown.
When an agent reported to the area, the dogs were found on a nearby property, most of them puppies.
A spokesperson with the Humane Society said the owner had been trying to rescue the dogs, that are mostly from West Virginia and Kentucky, and had been overwhelmed.
The shelter is in desperate need of pedigree puppy food, puppy pads, trash bags (contractor size,) bleach, paper towels and copy paper.
They are also seeking cash donation to cover extra medical and staff costs.
