After a bald eagle was reported injured in Knox County, Ohio Division of Wildlife officials gained custody of the bird, and quickly realized they had seen this eagle before, according to their Facebook page.
The eagle had a band around its leg. The division said it has not banded eagles for many years. The band was placed there in 1996 near a Seneca County nest making the bird at least 19 years old.
The eagle had surgery to repair its injury and is recovering at the Ohio Wildlife Center.
