A partial building collapse on the city’s near east side has caused a road closure that will last through Monday, according to Columbus police.
Just before 5:30 Sunday night a brick building on South Ohio Avenue near Oak Street partially collapsed sending bricks tumbling onto the sidewalk and into the roadway.
Firefighters on scene said the structure appears quite old, and they believe that wind and rain combined with the age of the building may have caused the collapse.
No injuries were reported, and South Ohio Ave. will be closed until sometime Monday.
NBC4 will provide updates as they become available.
