Street Transforms Into Giant Slide

(KPNX) More than 4,000 kids and adults slid down a giant water slide in Fountain Hills, Arizona over the weekend. It’s called Slide the City.

“A giant slip and slide,” said Nathan Jensen, who works for Slide the City. “It’s a slide that’s a 1,000 feet. Which is about 3 and a half football fields.”

The giant, blue slide has three lanes. A stream of water carry each slider down to the bottom of Palisades Boulevard.

“We put a layer of foam underneath. About 850 sheets of foam and lined them up on the entire street. So there’s no pebbles or anything. Everybody should just slip right down,” said Jensen.

The giant slide will be making its way to Columbus, but no dates have been set. Click here for updates.
