A cat rescue organization took in a humongous black and white feline that was found in an abandoned home in New Jersey.
Sprinkles arrived with a flea infestation, ear mites and a rear-end infection, and was grossly overweight. She has the body type for a smaller cat and should weigh about 10 pounds.
Stacy Jones Olandt, a volunteer with S.O.S. Sea Isle City Cats, told the Press of Atlantic City the four-year-old kitty’s weight is “just obscene.”
“Cats, by and large, don’t overfeed themselves,” she said. “This is similar to a 600 or 700 pound human that should weigh 180 pounds.”
The group, which serves as a transition facility to help cats get adopted, told the New York Daily News it does not have information on the owners or why Sprinkles was able to get so large.
She is reportedly doing much better, and will go on a diet soon.
