Firefighters are investigating what caused a fire at the Ohio American Legion headquarters Monday afternoon.

Just after noon Monday, firefighters were called to 60 Big Run Road in Delaware County on the report of a fire.

After arriving on scene, firefighters issued a second-alarm fire on the building, which is the headquarters for the Ohio American Legion.

About eight people were inside at the time of the fire, but all were able to make it out safely.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire, but the building suffered significant damage.

There is no word as to what caused the fire, but firefighters said it may have started toward the back of the building.
