Ohio State coach Urban Meyer would prefer not to punt in a game. Ever. But when he has to, he prefers to have an elite punter at his disposal.
Another elite recruit says he’s on the way to Columbus to punt for the Buckeyes.
Cincinnati LaSalle junior Drue Chrisman is rated by several recruiting experts as the best high school punter in the nation for the 2016 recruiting class. Chrisman confirmed Tuesday he’s committed to OSU over schools like Florida State and BYU.
Chrisman averaged nearly 43 yards per punt as a junior and his LaSalle team won the D-II State Championship this past season. He becomes the 14th player to verbally commit to next year’s recruiting class.
