Another of the children under the care of an Ohio National Guard officer charged with rape, told jurors she was molested by him twice.
NBC4 is not identifying the girls or their relationship to Major Jean Paul Kruse.
He and his wife Emily had 10 children in their home before Children’s Services removed them.
The teenage girl testified she was around 10 years old when she said Kruse touched her inappropriately.
She told jurors 2 younger girls told her Kruse took them into the house under the pretext of hanging curtains, locked the doors and performed sex acts on them.
She said the younger girls told her, “Jean Paul told them you cannot tell anyone or he would get in trouble.”
Union County Judge David Faulkner allowed the heresay testimony, calling it “excited utterances.”
The teen said she eventually told relatives about the abuse and word got back to Kruse and his wife, and says she was forced to write apology letters saying she was lying.
“If I didn’t write the letters I was threatened to be sent away,” she said to Chris Kinsler, who is prosecuting the case for the Ohio Attorney General’s office.
A nurse practitioner from Nationwide Children’s Hospital Child Access Center that evaluates cases of child abuse assisted in a physical exam of 4 young females. She said none of the exams showed sexual abuse. She said signs of sexual abuse can heal within 72 hours after the abuse.
Other than bruising from a spanking with one girl, Gail Hornor said there were no other recent physical or sexual abuse signs on any of the girls.
