COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Former OSU head drum major and instructor Christopher Stewart Kitchen is posted bond Wednesday on rape charges.
The State of Ohio and defense attorneys agreed to a $50,000 surety bond in Kitchen’s rape and kidnapping case. He was arraigned in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Wednesday on two counts of rape, two counts of sexual battery and one count of offenses involving underage persons.
His attorney Thomas Hayes tells NBC4 he expected Kitchen to post bond Wednesday afternoon and be released.
“We have been in full compliance from day one with the court. It is a difficult situation all round, but we [don’t] want to address charges or make comments, there will be a place and time but today is not that day,” Hayes said.
That might come when a judge is assigned and the next court date comes in this case, which will likely be in June.
Until then both sides will work on this case.
“We’ll continue our investigation, get discovery, and take the next steps. It’s in the very early stages right now,” Hayes said.
