Police say one person was injured on Harland Drive after a shooting Wednesday.
A man in his 40s was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the hip, medics say.
According to Columbus police, it happened shortly after 10 p.m. at a home on the 500 block of Harland Drive.
Investigators said that officers were responding after a man called 911 and stated that he no longer wanted to live.
The man, according to police, answered the door while holding a knife and came outside while the officers were trying to get off the porch.
Police say the man ignored multiple commands to drop the knife. A Taser was used by another office, but it had no effect.
A second officer fired multiple shots at the man, striking him once in the hip.
