The Old First Presbyterian Church’s history dates back to 1806, but the latest chapter is one of the area’s most disappointing.

In a matter of a week, thieves got into the church stealing stained glass windows.

In one of the cases, they actually used the church’s ladder to climb, helping themselves and leaving the ladder there.

Congregation members say they are heartbroken, and just want the pieces of their rich history back.

Pastor Deb Bergmann said someone has “lost their way.”

“It’s heartbreaking,” Bergmann said. “It made us heartsick.
