The investigation into the cause of a fire on the 4600 block of Westerville Road is underway.

It started around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in a loading dock space that was full of carpet padding.

A fire captain said firefighters arrived to heavy flames coming from the rear of an office building. A large amount of carpet padding was burning in the rear of the building.

No injuries were reported.

Westerville Road was shut down in the southbound direction before Westerville Woods Boulevard.

The fire was contained to the loading dock space. The cause remains under investigation.

Crews spent Thursday morning unloading several tons of wet and burned carpet padding from the building.
