At a time of the year when many people are planning fun getaways and activities for the whole family, a popular local attraction is getting a bad review.
Now a business watchdog is warning consumers to do their homework.
Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark Resort here in Columbus has received an “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau based on a pattern of alleged complaints it’s received. Some of the complaints include poor customer service to poor conditions.
Joan Coughlin, Vice President of Marketing with the Better Business Bureau explained some examples of complaints, “… issues regarding terms of the venue when they actually signed up for lodging where the heat wouldn’t be available, the pool would be closed, the lockers would be unsecure and just overall suboptimal conditions.”
The BBB said in the last 12 months they’ve processed 19 consumer complaints about the waterpark, and 38 in the last three years.
According to the BBB, the organization contacted Fort Rapids to resolve the alleged issues more than once, both April 9 and April 24.
Coughlin said the BBB has not received a response as of Thursday.
