A standing ovation greeted 20-year-old special needs student Hunter Meacham as he received his diploma Thursday night from Hilliard Darby High School.

According to family friend Dee Mullet Wilson, 20-year-old Hunter, who has Down syndrome, is a loving person who has hundreds of friends.

In a speech to the class after receiving his diploma, Hunter said, “Great job class! Have a good time…O-H and I-O!

Wilson said Hunter may be the world’s biggest Brutus Buckeye fan. He is also, of course, a fan of the Buckeyes, the Blue Jackets and the Browns.

“He’s just so gentle and loves everyone,” said Wilson.

Hunter now plans to attend “all R friends” support center or as he calls it “college”.
