After Crash, Pike County Starts Search For Missing Woman

Pike County Sheriff Charles S. Reader is asking for the public’s help in locating Pike County resident Christina L. Short, according to a press release.

Reader said deputies from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash in 2300 block of Sunfish Creek Road Tuesday at about 8 a.m.

Officers located an overturned vehicle in a creek bed that had caught fire.

They learned the vehicle had been recently purchased by Christina Short.

Deputies, along with firefighter personnel from Camp Creek and Elm Grove townships, could not find anyone in the area.

Reader dispatched officers to Short’s last known residence, but said there has been no contact with her. Reader said in the press release that he is concerned for the safety of the occupants of the crashed vehicle.

Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of Christina Short or any other occupants are urged to contact the Pike County Sheriff’s office at 740-947-2111 or their local law enforcement agency.

The sheriff’s office has not yet released an image of Short. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
