UPDATE: Jamie Yinger has been charged with domestic violence, two counts of assault, unlawful restraint, aggravated menacing and menacing according to Fairfield County municipal court records. These charges stem from an alleged violation that occurred on May 28, according to court records. All charges as misdemeanor charges.

A Franklin County firefighter is under investigation for his involvement in an alleged domestic dispute with his wife.

According to a spokeswoman for Mifflin Township, the accusations against Fire Captain Jamie Yinger were brought to the attention of the board of trustees on Thursday morning.

On Thursday, a warrant was issued for Yinger’s arrest in connection with a domestic violence charge out of Fairfield County.

A statement attributed to the board of trustees reads as follows:

“We understand that there are allegations which are part of a larger domestic dispute between one of our employees and his spouse. At this point, we will respect the legal process, allowing both the courts and our law enforcement partners to do their job. If action is taken by one or more of these entities, or Captain Yinger’s ability to perform his duties and serve the Mifflin Township residents is compromised, we will take appropriate steps. However, at this time, it’s premature to act without allowing the process to move forward, respecting all parties involved.”

The township spokeswoman said Yinger is currently on planned vacation. There is no word on when he is expected to return to duty.
