1 in custody after shooting critically injures man

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Police took a man into custody after a shooting that critically injured another man late Sunday night.

The shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. on Medary Avenue in Columbus.

According to police, the victim was taken to OSU Medical Center in critical condition. Police said that he was shot in the arm, leg and abdomen.

A patrol officer saw a man matching the gunman’s description less than a mile away and arrested him after a brief foot chase. Investigators said that a gun was recovered.

The suspect was later identified as 20-year-old Kyle Climer. He is now charged with felonious assault.
