Troopers said a 35-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday evening.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said Tonya R. Patterson, of The Plains, was traveling westbound on U.S. 33 when her Oldsmobile Bravada went off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle overcorrected, struck and embankment and became airborne. The vehicle overturned, ejecting Patterson before the car landed in a ravine.

Medics pronounced Patterson dead at the scene. She was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

Unsafe speed is suspected to be the cause of the crash. Troopers are still investigating the incident. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
