Man arrested after Coshocton Dairy Queen shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Coshocton County deputies arrested a man suspected in a Saturday afternoon shooting.

According to Sheriff Tim Rogers, Mark A. Ray, 44, of West Lafayette was arrested Sunday morning.

Deputies say Ray’s truck was spotted in a field off of Morgan Road in Coshocton. A K-9 unit was called and located Ray in a nearby wooded area.

Ray was taken into custody without incident after a lengthy standoff. He is being held pending the filing of formal charges.

Deputies named Ray as a suspect after 34-year-old Alisha Melton was shot while in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen parking lot.

After the shooting, Melton was taken to Coshocton County Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
