Police search for men on bikes after shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police are looking for two men on bicycles after a shooting east of downtown.

Columbus police said two suspects were last seen heading northwest after a man was injured near Buckingham Street and North Monroe Avenue Sunday afternoon. The men were engaged in a verbal altercation before a suspect fired gun shots at 19-year-old Eric Stromer.

Police described the two suspects as black men. One was last seen wearing a white shirt and cargo shorts with tattoos on his face. The other was last seen wearing cargo shorts and no shirt. Both were last seen leaving the scene on bicycles.

Witnesses said the victim, Stromer, was shot in the leg. Police said he was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.
