Former music teacher sentenced to more than 2 years in prison

A former music teacher at St. Francis DeSales High School was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)- A former music teacher at St. Francis DeSales High School was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison.

Zachary Ruppel, 28, pleaded guilty in April to compelling prostitution, importuning, disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and two counts of pandering obscenity.
Ruppel pleaded guilty to the charges in connection to three separate students that he taught between the 2012 and 2013 school years.

A judge sentenced him to two years and 9 months in prison and Ruppel must register as a sex offender.
