Teen rescued from O’Shaughnessy Reservoir

DELAWARE COUNTY (WCMH) — A teenager was rescued from the O’Shaughnessy Reservoir Tuesday night after being stranded on an island surrounded by swift currents.

Four Delaware county rescue crews responded to 6013 Glick Road in Concord Township for a water rescue. There were reports of a person stranded near the Scioto River.

Responders said the person was injured and unable to move himself from the area.

After launching multiple boats, firefighters were able to safely get the boy from the water. He was treated at the scene.

Investigators said they are unsure how the teen got onto the island. The incident remains under investigation.
