Police searching for suspects in Hobby Town robbery

A cash reward is being offered to anyone that helps lead to the arrest of two suspects in a robbery at a Hobby Town store.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH)- A cash reward is being offered to anyone that helps lead to the arrest of two suspects in a robbery at a Hobby Town store.

According to investigators, two men entered the Hobby Town store in the 1600 block of Georgesville Square Drive, Wednesday July 1 and began asking the clerk questions about remote control cars.

The suspects then requested to see two specific brands and models of remote control cars. When the clerks complied, giving the suspects the cars for inspection, the suspects also asked about the types of fuel each car would require and asked to see a can.
Investigators said while holding the merchandise and a can of fuel, both suspects suddenly ran out the store with the cars and a can of fuel, without paying. The stolen merchandise, a “T-Max” and “Rustler” remote cars have a value of $1,094.

Both suspects are described as a white male, 35 to 40-years-old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. The first suspect had short dark hair and wore a medium blue t-shirt and dark plaid shorts. The second suspect had graying hair and wore a blue baseball cap, reddish-orange t-shirt and dark jean shorts. They were observed leaving the area in a small tan or white station wagon with an Ohio license plate beginning with “CJJ”.
