(WCSH) A Portland brewer has decided to combine two of Maine’s favorite summertime things: lobster and beer.
“The beer is called Saison Dellaragosta,” says Oxbow Brewing Company brewmaster Tim Adams.
Adams say the idea came from his brewery partner in Italy, who was visiting Maine and feasting on lobster rolls. It’s made by dropping a net filled with a dozen lobsters into a boiling vat of unfermented beer.
“We were very subtle with the lobster. The taste is there, but just a touch above threshold,” Adams says.
