1 rushed to hospital after shooting on west side

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A person is in critical condition after a shooting on the city’s west side.

Columbus police said one person was rushed to Mount Carmel West Hospital after being shot at about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said the suspect fled after one shot was fired. The only suspect description police have released is a white male.

Police initially believed the victim was shot near Sullivant Avenue and Clarendon Avenue. During the investigation, officials determine the victim was shot while driving and was found in the area. Police are unsure where the shooting occurred.

Sullivant Avenue was closed between Midland and Highland avenues while police investigated Tuesday afternoon.
