DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) —
A second child has come forward accusing a chess coach of sexual misconduct. F. Leon Wilson was indicted Monday on one more charge for sexual contact with a girl under the age of 13.
He appeared in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Monday afternoon.
NBC4 reached out to Wilson after the hearing but he declined comment
Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien says Wilson connected with the girls through chess.
“Mr. Wilson is a world renowned chess player and goes around the world playing in chess tournaments and would teach at various schools camps community centers engaging young people in the game of chess,” O’Brien said.
One of the counts he was indicted on claims that he made sexual contact with a minor from February 19 to April 9, 2015.
Two other counts are similar but allege the abuse occurred from March 31 to April 7 of 2015.
Now that the case is gaining attention, O’Brien say more children seem to be coming forward.
“We have to be very vigilant with our children and we have to teach them at a very young age what to look out for, and if something makes them uncomfortable be sure to tell the parents.”
Wilson’s trial date is set for October 6, 2015.
