Man critically injured after shooting in McDonald’s parking lot

Columbus, (WCMH) — A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot while in a McDonald’s parking lot.

The shooting happened late Sunday night in a McDonald’s restaurant parking lot in the 3000 block of E. Livingston Avenue.

Detectives say Andre Kates is recovering from a gunshot wound to the torso at an area hospital. He was brought there in critical condition, but is expected to survive his injuries.

Investigators say Kates had been involved in an argument with the suspect.

They say the victim and suspect exchanged gunfire and then both left the scene.

Police caught up with the victim in the Whitehall area at Ross Road and E. Main Street.
