LICKING COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) — A Circleville woman was killed early Tuesday morning after crashing into the back of a parked truck.

According to troopers from the Granville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. near the ramp from eastbound I-70 to a rest area near Buckeye Lake.

A tractor-trailer was parked on the side of the road near the ramp and was struck in the rear by a minivan driven by 69-year-old Marvalene Nungester of Circleville.

Nungester was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.

The truck driver was in the sleeper berth in the truck at the time of the crash and was not injured.

The freeway was shut down for nearly two hours during the investigation.
