Deputies rescue man from oncoming train

SUNNYVALE , Calif. (NBC News) — A California man is lucky to be alive after he was pulled from his car moments before it was hit by a train.

The rescue was caught on camera.

In the video, you can see the deputy dragging the man away from his car just moments before the collision.

The deputies, who were just a few cars away, saw a vehicle had run into the crossing guard. One of the deputies ran on to the tracks to notify the oncoming train while the other deputy removed the driver from the vehicle.

San Mateo County Sheriff Salvador Zuno said “These deputies did not hesitate. I believe because they reacted this person is alive today.”
