WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — A man accused by police of exposing himself to a woman on several occasions at a Williamsburg area park says he’s innocent.
Hee Yun Jeon, 28, of James City County, Virginia, is accused of approaching the same woman July 12, July 24 and July 26. Police say on two occasions he was wearing “minimalistic fetish clothing” and exposed his genitals.
“He didn’t physically touch her,” said Major Greg Riley, with Williamsburg police. “He would just come up and ask her questions. I believe the first encounter, he asked her if she was looking for a sex life.”
The woman called police Aug. 1 when she saw Jeon back at the park.
Police say they obtained two warrants and served them Aug. 2. Jeon was booked into the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail and bonded out the same day.
10 On Your Side spoke exclusively with Jeon at his James City County home Thursday. He admitted to being at the park at the same time as the woman, but denied exposing himself to her.
“I just said, ‘hello, how are you doing?’ I’m a pretty friendly person,” Jeon said. “I’d be the last person to lay a finger on a lady.”
Williamsburg police say they are working with James City County Police to determine if this case is connected to a similar incident in late May on Landfall Drive.
“I’m very upset about this, and I want this to process so I can prove my innocence,” Jeon said. “I didn’t intentionally expose anybody. I don’t do that.”
Jeon has a trial set for Sept. 3 in Williamsburg.
