Man faces felony charge for selling fake State Fair tickets

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Columbus man is in jail, accused of selling fake Ohio State Fair Tickets.

Chad Knight, 29, is charged with forgery and theft by deception.

According to court documents, Knight was selling fair tickets for $15. The actual price for the tickets were $20.

On August 8th, an employee from the fair was handed one of the counterfeit tickets. The employee alerted police.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol in plain clothes set up surveillance and witnessed Knight selling the fake tickets.

Knight told police he didn’t know what he was doing was illegal.

Knight remains in jail on a $5,000 bond.
