Motorcycle rider killed in Fairfield County crash

FAIRFIELD COUNTY (WCMH) — Troopers said a 56-year-old motorcycle driver was killed after he struck a guardrail Sunday afternoon.

Ohio Highway Patrol officials said Arthur W. Wedemeyer, of Blacklick, was heading south on State Route 664 just before 1 p.m. on August 16. The motorcycle went off the right side of the road, launching Wedemeyer off the bike and over the guardrail.

Troopers said Wedemeyer succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital. He was wearing a helmet at the time, and alcohol is not suspected to have played a role in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
