Traffic stop leads to arrest of 3 on drug charges

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–Two men, who have been deported numerous times, and a woman were arrested by Franklin County deputies after a traffic stopped led to drug charges.Stelzer Photo 2

According to Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott, deputies initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of Stelzer Road and Interstate 670 east at about 4:49 p.m. Monday.

Scott said during the stop, 90 grams of cocaine and nearly $30,000 were found within the vehicle.

The driver, Erick Vazquez-Borjas, 35 and the passenger, Jesus Guzman, 28 were arrested and taken into custody. According to Scott, both men had been deported on numerous occasions.

Because of the traffic stop a search warrant was executed at 755 Stelzer Road, lot 1309.

Scott said when deputies were inside the residence, they found JoeCindy Gallegos, 19, with her juvenile child, and during a search nearly a kilo of cocaine, and two firearms were found.

Gallegos was taken into custody and all three suspects are waiting charges pending indictment.
