Deputies identify woman found dead in Ross County

The body of Jonda L. Rutter, 37, was found at a home in Ross County, Friday.

ROSS COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH)–Investigators in Ross County have identified the woman who was found dead at a home on Bull Creek Road, Friday.

According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Jonda L. Rutter, 37, died of blunt force trauma to the head. No charges have been filed in the case, but Rutter’s 15-year-old son was taken into custody after she was found dead.

The initial 911 call from a neighbor to dispatchers stated that the son had killed the mother after hitting her in the head with a hammer. Deputies have not confirmed what caused the blunt force trauma to Rutter.
