LONDON, Ohio (WCMH) — You can call it a gas price war or the deal of the day.
Residents in London woke up to gas prices that dropped about a quarter since Friday.
Three stations along state route 42 are duking it out for the cheapest price at the pump.
Saturday morning gas cost $1.89 at the Rich, Kroger, and Shell gas stations with Kroger offering even more savings to customers who use their fuel points and Shell offering gas at 1.86 for customers who paid in cash.
One Kroger customer told NBC 4 she filled up for $1.69 a gallon while some chose to save those points just in case fuel prices soar.
I spent $23 and saved .10 a gallon, so that’s pretty good. I usually fill up for $40.“
In July, the BP station led the gas price war with the cheapest prices but Saturday morning workers there kept gas prices at a firm $1.99 per gallon.
At daybreak there a small sprinkle of cars here and there stopped to fill up but as the day progressed lines began to form at gas stations.
Gas price analysts say there is no need to rush out to the pump, they’ve predicted that we will continue to see low gas prices at the pump at least until the year’s end.
