Southwest Columbus checkpoint nets 5 OVI arrests

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A sobriety checkpoint in southwest Columbus Friday night to Saturday morning resulted in seven arrests, 37 citations, and 20 vehicles impounded according to the Franklin County DUI Task Force.

The task force said of the seven arrests, five people were arrested for OVI, one person had a warrant, and another person was arrested from a stolen vehicle.

The 37 citations included: 19 driver license violations, five vehicle registration violations, one child restraint citation, one adult restraint citation, and two open container citations.

The task force said a total of 1,451 vehicles entered the checkpoint.
