Missing Denison student found dead

Wendell Jackson

GRANVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) –After an extensive search, Denison student Wendell Jackson has been found dead, in the college’s Biological Reserve.

His family has been notified, according to the school.

Further comments from the university:

We are all incredibly saddened by Wendell’s tragic death. He was a bright, active and engaged person. A Resident Assistant who touched many lives, an admissions host who introduced future students to Denison, a graduate of the LeaderShape program — a student we were all proud to call a Denisonian.

Classes are canceled for the day, so the campus can gather, mourn and comfort one another. Swasey Chapel will be open throughout the day for students, faculty and staff to congregate and share memories of Wendell.

Professional staff will be available at Curtis West Lounge and at Whisler Health Center today. Whisler staff will remain available too, throughout the coming days. The Denison community is a special one, and we have lost one of our own. Please take care of each other and support each other through this painful time.
