Turtles stolen from Crawford Co. park

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) — Four Pennsylvania snapping turtles used for educational programs were stolen from Lowe Volk Park in Crawford County.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s office says the turtles were taken sometime since Thursday, August 27.

A spokesperson from the park said kids in the Summer program loved the turtles. The park had a permit from the state to use the turtles for education.

Three of the turtles are large — weighing over 30 pounds, and the fourth is described as small with a yellow spot on the shell.

Anyone with information should call the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office at (419) 562-7906.
