COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Police say a man stepped out on his porch and opened fire late Friday night, injuring his neighbor.
It happened around 11:20 p.m. Friday at a home on the 900 block of Bellows Avenue.
According to Columbus police, 30-year-old Mathew Scalf stepped out of his home and started firing across the street, striking 23-year-old Demetruis Allgood in the leg.
Allgood was standing on another porch at the time of the shooting, according to police. He was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
Several other family members were nearly struck by bullets.
Police have not determined a motive in the shooting.
Scalf was arrested after witnesses identified him as the shooter, according to investigators.
