Passenger dies after falling off ATV in Morrow County

MORROW COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) — Troopers suspect alcohol played a factor in the death of a 22-year-old man Monday morning.

Ohio Highway Patrol officials said Zachary T. Sahr, of Mount Gilead, was pronounced dead at the scene after falling from an all-terrain vehicle onto a roadway.

Investigators said the ATV, driven by Justin Hoffman, 22, of Marion, was eastbound on County Road 137 north of Cardington at about 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Troopers said Sahr, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, fell off the vehicle onto the roadway and sustained fatal injuries.

Tthis is the third ATV-related fatality on public roadways in Morrow County in the last two years, according to the Mount Gilead Patrol Post. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
