BEREA, Ohio (AP) – A person familiar with the decision says the Cleveland Browns have waived wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, who made their 53-man roster after switching from quarterback.
Pryor was informed on Thursday following practice, said the person who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not announced the move.
Pryor made it through the final cuts despite not catching a pass during the exhibition season. The former Ohio State and Oakland Raiders quarterback had been slowed by a hamstring injury throughout training camp and only appeared in one preseason game.
His potential intrigued the Browns, but the team decided to release him just three days before the season opener against the New York Jets. Pryor switched to wide receiver after being waived by Kansas City and Cincinnati earlier this year.
