Free admission continues for Clippers playoff games

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – For the second night in a row the Columbus Clippers are offering free admission at Huntington Park.

Fans can come to game 1 of the Governor’s Cup Championship finals Tuesday where the Clippers take on the Indianapolis Indians. First Pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.

The free tickets are all part of an effort to draw bigger crowds.

According to Columbus Business First this is the first time in the franchise’s 39 years that tickets were offered free of charge.

This comes after poor attendance on Sunday’s game 4 of the Governor’s Cup semifinals. Only 2500 fans came out to the park which holds more than 10,000.

Monday, an attendance record was set.

Free admission will continue through the Governor’s Cup Championship. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
