Lodge destroyed after fire erupts at Mad River Mountain

ZANESFIELD, Ohio (WCMH) — Fifteen fire departments from four counties battled a fire at the Mad River Mountain lodge on Wednesday evening.

The fire is now under control, and no one was injured. A cause of the fire has not been determined. The state fire marshal will investigate Thursday morning.

The 52-year-old structure is destroyed.

The wall of flames was 50 feet high, and nothing is standing above the first floor.

Memorabilia from 50 years of skiing, including memorabilia from Olympian Louis Vito, are all gone.
