NEWARK, Ohio (WCMH) — It’s been a long, tough journey for safety forces in Newark over the years.
Tightening budgets have led to learning to do more with less.
At Newark Fire Department, they have long been known as one of the busier departments in run volume, but hadn’t added staff in years according the the fire chief.
Three of those positions from a federal SAFER grant that allows salaries and benefits to the tune of $400,000– money that will not not come from taxpayers.
The 4th position comes after a retirement.
You’ll meet the firefighters tonight in NBC4 at 5:30 p.m.
