Ashville bank robbery suspects make national headlines

A Central Ohio man accused of robbing a bank has become an Internet sensation after pictures surfaced showing him posing with a large amount of cash hours after the robbery.

John Evan Mogan, 28, was arrested last week and charged with robbery in connection with the August 24 robbery of the Savings Bank of Ashville.

According to the Circleville Herald, Mogan was arrested based on a tip through Central Ohio Crime Stoppers. Someone recognized Mogan based on a picture posted on Facebook, where he was posing with a large amount of cash.

Sheriff Robert Radcliff told the paper they put the pieces together after realizing Mogan had previously served prison time for robbery and that his parents live in the Ashville area.

Mogan is being held at the Pickaway County Jail pending review of the case by a grand jury.

Pictures of Mogan posing with a large amount of cash in his mouth recently surfaced on the website, The Smoking Gun.

A second suspect, 24-year-old Ashley Duboe was also arrested and charged with robbery.
